What is granulation?
what is granulation tissue? I am about 13 weeks post op, and sex still hurts - no bleeding or spotting though. I had a TAH, BSO w/ cervix removed.

What is granulation?
Hi Kim!
Granulation tissue forms on the vaginal cuff. It can bleed if touched and can be painful. You can read more about it and how it is treated in this link.
Let your doctor know about any pain you are having. An internal exam is necessary to detect granulation tissue.
Hope this helps!

What is granulation?
Hi!
Yes, that's possible. When my doctor did an internal exam and found the granulation tissue, he touched it and caused it to bleed. My entire vaginal cuff had granulation tissue and some parts were definitely more sensitive than others when touched. The area that was most painful was the last to heal.
If you are still spotting it would be a good idea to have your doctor check to find out the cause. In addition to granulation, other causes could be vaginal dryness/atrophy or if you kept your cervix and ovaries it's possible to have cyclical bleeding or spotting--referred to as a mini-period.
I hope this helps!

What is granulation?
Hi,
If you are having intercourse PLEASE be very careful. I had my cervix removed as well and the dr gave me the ok to have inter course. So we did and my cuff ended up splitting open. I ended up with a very bad infection in the blood stream of my cuff. So PLEASE be careful. My dr now said that they are suggesting that ladies wait for 8-10 weeks instead of 6 weeks. Good Luck. I am not trying to scare you just to make you aware.
Take Care Dear Sister !!

What is granulation?
ladies, you were right
I had some granulation (scar tissue) and got some silver nitrate trmt in the office due to my spotting....my gyn says he often sees it in ladies even a year after their hyster, nothing to worry about, more of an annoyance....thanks for encouraging me to get it checked out....i return in 6 wks to make certain it healed up....the trmt was painless, no burning or anything, just a strange type sensation...

What is granulation?
Sounds like granulation is very common. Do most women get it or is it relatively rare?
