Im not me anymore.

Hi

I am 36, I had a Hysterectomy, removal of one ovary and cervix and also a benign tumour wieghing 6lbs that had engulfed the organs. I had one ovary left which the surgeon thought would kick in and keep the hormones going.

But that was in July, and now im having menopausal symptoms, crying, headaches, hot flushes all the time , my energy never went back up. I had a blood test and the doctor told me the ovary is not working.

As i also had breast cancer they dont want to give HRT (Hormones) to me. But what can i do I dont think i can stay like this, i had allot of illnesses and hospital stuff but always stayed active and positive. Until this operation. Now i dont know what i can do. Does anyone know what i can try , hebal things ect.

If you know anything thanks. xx

Re: Im not me anymore.

I'm sorry sweety! I had a TAH 10/08 and feel the same way. Some days are really hard and some are manageable. I have heard that Evening Primrose Oil is helpful and Vitamin E. If you have a natural food store I would go in and ask I'm sure they would know more. Hang in there it will get better! Hugs to you!

Re: Im not me anymore.

my dr.told me b-complex vitamins seems to help. I agree with you. This is one of the most difficult things I have ever been through. I went in for a scope & woke up with no uteus, cervix, or ovaries. I am 38 and now in full blown menopause although I can use an estrogen patch. It has been a lot of sobbing and out of control hormones even with the patch. I can't even imagine how hard it has been on you. My heart is with you.

Re: Im not me anymore.

Hi there, this is actually my first post after a lot of reading. I guess I feel that I should share this info that has really helped me a lot. My naturopathic Dr. has suggested I try a very high quality Omega 3 capsule and Chasteberry and vitamin B for my symptoms. I was having terrible night sweats, insomnia etc and they have cleared up very nicely. Had a TAH/RSO on Sept 23 and not sure if the left ovary was still functioning, but feeling a lot better since I started these supplements. Good luck.

Re: Im not me anymore.

Hi,

Thanks guys, I think im off to the health food shop to find out if the have any of these things I was also reading about Black Cosh (think thats spelt wrong), might work short term.

I think i will try so of these things and see how it goes , would be good to hear off anyone who is further in the future what has works.

Its good isnt it when you think you are not the only one in this situation, everyone thought i would be ok by now, its hard when you know your not but theres people just expecting normal stuff from you

Love to you xx
