How soon to soon to do a "light" work out after TVH?

I am three weeks post-op tomorrow. I had a TVH. It went well, no complication, feeling super, etc. I went back to work after 2 1/2 weeks (I am a paraproffesional, basically a professional tutor for a first grade class). I am taking it easy.

I have always done Walk Away The Pounds by Leslie Sanson. Great video! I just do the one mile walk. Nothing major, I walk more than that at school all day! However, the walk is what I would consider speed walking. Some leg movements and arm movements with it. It is just a fifteen minute video. I did it last night and felt super. Did it this morning and felt super to.

My question is that today I am having more back-ache. I am wondering how much of it is normal for just getting back into the routine of working out and how much of it means I "over-did-did". I am having no sharp pains or spotting or anything.

What do you think? And yes, I have a call into the doctors office!

Jennifer, I had the same surgery as you. My doc released me at 2 1/2 weeks for all exercises except anything to do with the abs. My first day was good. I felt like I could take on the world. The second and third day, I thought I was going to die. I talked to my doc and he said it was just the muscles being stretched and pulled. Basically getting back into the routine. Right now I work out 3 times a week. M-W-F and seems to help. I want to step it up, but I don't want to hurt myself. Just take it slow until your body adjusts to the movement again.

Hi I had the same surgery 7 weeks ago.I started doing exercise at my 6 weeks.Can't do no stomach exercise tryed didn't hurt but I felt it was still to early for that yet so I to do walk away the pounds.Backaches I still have them but I try to rest.This week I feel much stronger.So good luck.
