New and a bit blue

Hi,
I'm new to the site. Had my hysterectomy 6-21. (Dr. removed 1900 gram fribroid--only one ovary remains.) The pain isn't too bad; my biggest problem is my emotional state. I never had bad emotional swings (even during pregnancy), but now! I find this the hardest to cope with. (Not to mention that dh isn't very supportive because I can't tell him what is wrong.)
I've had one ovary for years and didn't have any problems w/ harmones--With hysterectomy, do you think that HTR will help with the melt downs and depression?
I don't know. I really guess that I need someone to understand what I am going through right now. I've never been a crier, and I'm having trouble understanding me.

First let me welcome you to the site. This is a great place to find help, a shoulder to cry on, and a good laugh just when you didn't think you could laugh anymore.

I am sending gentle s and letting you know you are in my prayers.

Have you checked out the dear honey section of this site? It may help to check that out and then write him a letter. Sometimes writting is easier than talking.

no one wants to go thru this, some of us doing for personal reasons some medical...i personaly was a lucky one,i had it done because i am watching my family pass away from uterin cancer one by one..i had it done so i would not get uterin cancer... others have no choice, and i think thats why it is so hard to cope with.. your not giving a chance to decide, its pretty much decide for you, weather you like it or not... the pain killers dont help much they sorta keep you feeling numb, and men dont really understand women in the first place,we are loosing a part of us,yes we go on but theres something missing something empty,..we cant reverse it we cant change our mind... in your heart you know you did the right thing but you didnt want to... give yourself time..and dont lock up your emotions..share them here if you need too,but please do share with someone.. good luck
