Re: Migraines???

I understand about your concerns. I also get migraines. I was very clear with my doctor and anesthesiologist that I did not want to have nausea or vomit. They gave me zofran with any and all meds given. I made sure of it each time I got meds too. I was not nauseous at any time with all the meds and anesthesia given. I asked them to give me the zofran first and then the pain meds. It worked. I am so glad. We have to be proactive and tell them what we need. I found they were very willing to accomidate me. I went so much better than I thought it would.

Re: Migraines???

I'm 1 week post op TVH and unfortunately I did get a couple of migraines after surgery. My doc said it was from the anesthesia. I suggest that you drinks lots of water prior to your surgery and right after-staying hydrated can help. Also take your pain meds as prescribed and stay on top of your pain. And as Abby214 said let the anesthesioligist know ahead of time and they will make sure you get the proper anti-nausea medication. Hope this helps and best wishes!

Re: Migraines???

There is a medicine they can give you to help you with nausea-you have to ask for it. Scalopalene Patch-I HIGHLY recommend it. I also struggle with migraines and the anthesesiologist suggested it. Keep your house as dark as you can and don't eat any food that will set them off.

Good Luck!

Thanks so much for the guidance and advise. I still have just enough time to worry, 20 days to go! Glad to hear that you were able to manage the migraines, it gives me hope.
