Increase in Headaches
has anyone else had an increase in headaches? I do suffer from migraines and/or tension headaches, and I have noticed that for about a week or so now, my headaches have increased and they are really painful!
Has anyone else? I suspect they are to do with my hormones and I wonder how long this will go on for?

Re: Increase in Headaches
I started having a headache today. I'm one week behind you...so I'm now concerned it will be an issue. I suffered from migraines prior to surgery, we hoped they would be eliminated after surgery. My narcotic isn't helping with the headache either.
I know I'm not drinking as much caffeine as I used to, but I'm not sleeping...so I've tried to back off it a bit. Not sure if that's the culprit or not.
Interested if anyone else has insight.

Re: Increase in Headaches
I am also a long time migraine sufferer, and on post-op week 2 they came with a vengance. I take a preventitive med daily then have an emergency med, but can only take 2 doses of it in a 24 hr period and it wasn't putting a dent in my headaches. I got the headache of all headaches last week and I was taking one of just about everything I was prescribed(not recommended btw). I actually think I overdosed myself, b/c I slept for about 23 hours straight. I haven't slept that much in a week since pre-surgery. I woke from that with a "normal" headache and have have only had one migraine since.
I do think the hormone imbalance after surgery triggered them, that and I drank some caffienated beverages when I hadn't in over 2 months. I also think some of my triggers may be different now. I would suggest drinking plenty of water, as dehydration can be a big trigger. Walk as much as you can, b/c it releases good endorphins, helps with gas and builds stamina:O) If you haven't already call and speak to your drs and find out about prevention meds, even if only for a little while. Hope they ease up soon.

Increase in Headaches
Thank you so much for the tips! Am 5 wks post ops and I have started having headaches about a week ago. Am using normal OTC drugs for them. I too think its the hormone regulating itself. Am hoping things will settle quickly. The headache and back pain are my only challenges. Thank God!
