Pre-Op is tomorrow

tomorrow is my pre-op @ noon. I am getting extremely nervous about the entire situation
next week is my actual surgery and this will be my first time to be in a hospital for days with no one to stay with me, in normal situations my mother would be staying with me during the entire stay but she is unable to this time...and I know its time to put on my big girl panties and get over it but it still makes me sad.....and scared all in the same.


and I feel like I'm about to start my next horrendous period...will they still preform the surgery while menstrating?

I had the jitters, too. Pre-op was long, but not difficult or anything. I know where you're coming from. Hopefully your mom will be there for more time than you think and you'll be home before you know it. Hang in there, girl.

Oh and AFAIK they will do the surgery, menstruating or not.

HUGS! I am having my preop tomorrow as well and am very nervous about it. My TAH is Sept.10th and the waiting is making me crazy. I hope tomorrow goes well for you. Please let us know how you do! I'll be thinking of you.

Good luck to all of you ladies in waiting! Those of us on the "other side" will be thinking of you as your day approaches. The good Lord presented me with my "last period" just 3 days before my surgery and the day of surgery was absolutely the heaviest day! I told my dr and the nurses, they said about 8 of 10 women are menstruating at the time of surgery. I said it must be God's way of helping us confirm we are making the right decision and no looking back!! You can talk yourself out of most anything when you are between the nasty symptom time, but when they come raging back, it reminds you - "Yep, this is the right thing to do!!!" My pre-op is Wednesday at 11:45 and my surgery is on Septh 8th. I'll be thinking of you all, I hope your pre-ops and surgerys go well, sending warm thoughts your way and prayers and much love! See you all on the other side.

Mine is the 3rd and my surgery is the 9th. I just want it to be over at this point...I know this is the right thing for me, I am ready to feel good again.
