Belly pain...describe yours, please!

Hey ladies!

I think this is a good little temperature check.

Please describe where you are post-op and what your belly pains are like. Oh, discharge too please.

I'll start.

17 days post op, TAH.

I have very much soreness in my lower belly, it feels like things are stretched out in there and painful. Actually, it feels kinda like my guts are ripped open and the only thing holding it in is the skin! Some jabbing pains in ovary area. By the end of the day my belly is HUGE. The skin above my incision is coming to life. Gas pains are incredibly painful.

Discharge? More by the day. It's clear with red. Not pure blood but a 50/50 mix. I now wear a pad most of the time. HATE THAT. I was always a tampon girl.

I am SO SICK OF IT.

Belly pain...describe yours, please!

i'm a little over 4wks post op and just now finally feeling decent. i had many complications with my TAH... i still have a hole in my bladder and another surgery coming (also still have my catheter) so my story isn't a typical TAH recovery.

but at 2wks post op... i was still in ALOT of pain. many of you haver said you have discharge? i didn't have any discharge at all until i have the hole in my bladder cauterized. so discharge from the TAH didn't occur for me.

belly pain on the other hand... YES. i think if you are bloating up after the day, you must be attempting to do too much or you need to check your diet for foods that are too gassy. most of my pain in the belly now... are more like "pulling" pains, like i'm stretching muscles all over again. and sometimes i tend to have sharp pains where my right ovary would be..

all in all.... the pains start to disappear slowly, VERY SLOWLY. since i had 3 c-sections, i figured a TAH would be a breeze with my recovery... ummm... no. yes, i had complications, but i think it's rare to be able to jump back into life like normal... for quite awhile. give yourself time to heal!!

goodluck to you

Belly pain...describe yours, please!

Hello:

I am 26 hours post op, and this is not nearly as bad as I had imagined. Actually, the gas pain is worse than the incision, and I am hoping that now that I'm up and moving that will subside.

I am so pleased.

Belly pain...describe yours, please!

Hi Linda~
Hey sweet sister,
I am 2 wks and 4 days (almost same as you)
I have increased soreness in my belly and swelling. My belly looked flatter last week. Maybe I ate too many cookies since my appetite is back, which is a good thing! But you can only sit for so long.

My discharge is reddish/creamy, grodie!!!! I think we are supposed to pass some stitches soon here, at 3-4 weeks. Mine are getting icky in there, I notice it in the discharge, sorry TMI!!!!

I think we would feel a little better if we could get rid of these darn pads!!

Hang in there, sisters, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Big hugs & Happy recoveries to all!!

Belly pain...describe yours, please!

I am 5 days post-op and still in so much pain. Went to have my staples removed this morning--all 20 of them. I have a vertical incision from belly button to hairline. I feel like I have a shredded insides, and any movement makes it feel like it's falling out. My gyne sent me home with 35 percocet demi's, but I've been home only 2 days, and am already halfway through them. BM's are easy, as long as I take my stool softner, my special recipe granola and lots of water. I am going through alternately hot flushes and freezing periods. I wear a pantyliner, but only really have a little brownish discharge when I wipe. I have had a couple of self pity parties. I hurt so much, and never really did beforehand. My teen sons are giving their dad some grief over having to help out. Whereas our 11 yr old DD is acting like a mini Mom. DH has been a doll. He has even reminded me NOT to do anything.

I am so looking forward to being able to move without this nauseating pain!!
