Re: INSOMNIA & Bad Dreams

Be careful with Ambien, I took it post hyst. I was doing things and having conversations with people and not even realizing what I had done. Try homeopathic remedies like serotonin. I know 15 months post op and I still fight with insomnia and nightmares. Am taking Lunesta now and it helps.

*bear hugs* hang in there.

Re: INSOMNIA & Bad Dreams

Thanks Mainecoon1, I am going to look into the serotonin because I would like a more natural approach to this never ending problem. I am trying to hang in there but the bats trying to eat me up last night in my nightmare is making it very hard!!!! But I know it has to end one day.....

Re: INSOMNIA & Bad Dreams

Check into Melotonin also. There are several herbs out there that can help. Just go to any natural food store and ask. They should be able to help. I can relate to the nightmare. Lastnight I was going to war with Zeus and the god of water. It was weird and I woke up screaming.. It is still pretty vivid in my mind. (Chills)

It was Posiedon (the water god) the only thing I can figure is that I watched the new "Thor" movie tuesday and that's where those 2 came in. BTW I would recommend renting it when u get the chance.

Re: INSOMNIA & Bad Dreams

Can you take serotonin? I don't think that is one you can get at the vitamin store. Melatonin, however, is easy to find at any drugstore or even supermarket supplement aisle. And it is not expensive. Lots of people use it for restoring sleep cycles that are out of whack because of jet lag, and it has helped me, too. There is a gentle homeopathic remedy called Calms Forte (made by Hyland's) that sometimes helps, too. I feel like I'm in the fairytale "The Princess and the Pea" when I don't sleep well.

Re: INSOMNIA & Bad Dreams

You are probably right about the serotonin. That's why I followed up with Melotonin. Serotonin is sleep related though. Thanks Vanillagrrl.

Hugs to u and gigih!

Re: INSOMNIA & Bad Dreams

Mainecoon1, I hope you won the war before waking up screaming...lol lol. I often try to recall if something I watched or read evolved in my dreams, but I can never find a connection. Maybe there is and I just don't realize it. I am going to try and go the natural route. Thanks for all your input!!!!!
