lower abdominal/groin pain - NOT constipated

yesterday I was Post-Op 11 days
On my 10th day I experienced a very sharp pain in my lower abdominal/groin area and it knocked me to my knees. The pain eventually lessened and I was able to walk to the bathroom. The pain increased so bad that I felt I did not know if standing or kneeling would be better. I passed a bowel (normal in color and consistancy). The pain subsided for a few minutes, I went to lie down and it started all over again. This went on for an hour.
Yesterday, my 11 day Post-Op the same exact thing happened as I described above.
Mind you I am not constipated - I have regular bowels once a day - good color and consistancy.
Any and all input would be GREATLY apprecitated.

Re: lower abdominal/groin pain - NOT constipated

I never experienced anything like you describe, but my doctor told me in no uncertain terms that if I had any severe pain (I'm sure that includes pain that would bring me to my knees!) that I was to call right away. You should call the on-call doc or go to the ER as it could be something that needs to be taken care of sooner rather than later. Please keep us posted.

Re: lower abdominal/groin pain - NOT constipated

I had LSH, but I still have my cervix, but a little after a week post op I started out of the blue getting intense cervical aches. I still get them from time to time, especially if I did a lot the day before. My doctor said it was normal healing pain, never went above an 8.

Re: lower abdominal/groin pain - NOT constipated

I called my doctor and after giving the nurse my symptoms over the phone she told me to come in right away. My doctor determined that I had developed a VERY bad infection. She told me to go to the ER and I would be admitted. In short I spent the last 2 days in the hospital getting very strong antibiotics through and IV.
I was discharged today and have to continue with oral antibiotics every 12 hours for another 7 days

Thanks for the update. I'm so glad that you called and got the help that you need. I know these setbacks are tough, but it's great that you caught it. Please rest and take it easy!
