Swelly Belly with LAVH?

Hello!

I'm trying to get together a list of things I need to get before my time at the castle. I am wondering if I have a vag procedure if I will still have swelly belly?

Hi Jo,

Most do end up with swelly belly due to the fact of injury to the tissues inside. It's like bumping your leg and you get a raised place due to the trauma inside.

Since there's a lot of cutting and stitching done inside there's going to be swelling. But, hey, we were all in the same boat at one time! It usually takes a while to go away. There's lots of healing going on inside and the swelling seems to be worse in the evening.

i am 6 day's post op.I had LAVH/BSO on may 11,yes swelly belly
will definitly be there.Alot of my gas is gone,Thank's to the GREAT
advice of these great ladies,and my belly do'es get bigger at night.Good luck too you,and hang in there.

Yes, I did have swelly belly with LAVH. In fact at almost 10 weeks post-op, I still get swelly belly when I do to much!

10 weeks later, huh? That's good to know. I'm seriously considering the swelly belly belt thing. Thanks so much for the input ladies!
