The glands on both sides of my neck are sore?

I am about 36 hours post op and my neck is so sore...both glands on each side. Has anyone experienced this and do you know why?

Might be infection- do you have fever? Are you still in hospital? Some people have neck soreness from surgery position. I would call your doc.

My guess is either infection (do you have a fever?) or from the anesthesia tube, do call your dr if you have a fever!!

Re: The glands on both sides of my neck are sore?

It might not be your glands. My neck hurt really bad on both sides, and then I realized it was from being intubated. I guess I should have realized it right away because I work in surgery, but it took me awhile to figure it out. The pain was gone on about the third day. My neck was also sore from the way I had to pull myself up in the bed. If you develop a fever, or other symptoms call the doc. Heck, call him anyway if no improvement.

My neck was sore too. I assumed from being intubated. It felt like my glands were swollen though I'm not sure if they were or it just seemd that way. I'm 10 days post-op and its gone. But if it continues, gets worse, or you get a fever, I'd call the doc.

Yes, my neck was sore also. I thought it was strange until I figured out it was from being intubated. Would be nice if they gave you a "heads up" (no pun intended) about those kinds of things...Hope you improve soon and it's not an infection..
