BOWEL PREP TODAY...not too bad so far!

Well, todays the day. As I type, I am on my last sip or two of mag citrate. I got the grape flavored one from walgreens...and it really is not so bad.....the first 5 oz were easy...just chased each sip with apple juice.
The 2nd 5 oz is a little more difficult...not taste wise, but it is making me feel a bit full and bloated! (probably because of all the apple juice and water that I am also simultaneously drinking!)
My nurse told me that I should finish the full 10oz over 30 min.
I started at 8 am....so......I am wondering when the 'fun' will begin!! I am all ready to go (as it were)

Good luck to all my sisters who are bowel prepping with me today..we are almost there. My surgery btw is on Nov 3rd.

I'm with ya, sister. My surgery is tomorrow (the 2nd) Gotta go to the hospital at 11 for pre-op tests, then coming home to enjoy a tall glass of mag citrate. I got the lemon flavor. Too bad I didn't see grape.

I've done this before for other procedures. It's not fun, but not the end of the world. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. It will make all the difference once the bathrooms runs begin if you're already filled to the brim with water.

Suedeblue.....Good luck at your pre op appt, and....with the mag citrate. It really isn't too bad.
Nothing moving yet......just a whole bunch of tummy rumblings and grumblings!

Hmm...havn't picked out any reading materials yet....guess I should! Hopefully though, I wont be on the throne for too long! I plan to be parked on my bed...with my computer and phone and very close to the bathroom!

Awwww...thank you! It really has not been too bad for me today..... (feel a bit guilty saying this because I read how unlucky some sisters have been with theirs). However, I am still 'going' 7 hours later, but I have not been tethered to the throne! Sorry for TMI...but it keeps going in dribs and drabs, with plenty of warning, soI have managed to do other stuff around the house.

I am now beginning to get some pretty good hunger pangs...this is going to be the toughest part of the whole thing. Plus, the clear liquids continue into tomorrow as well.

Hope it goes well for you too, and that the bowel prep wont be too hard on you.
