Re: Anyone offered studies?

48Robins, I had a LAVH & had vaginal packing. I had no idea it was there..it wasn't uncomfortable when the nurse removed it, it just felt REALLY weird coming out.

Good luck choosing...

Re: Anyone offered studies?

Thanks Everyone! I am probably going to back out of the medication study or at least call the Coordinator to find out if I can receive any other medication if it does not work. Other than that I am pretty comfortable doing the packing one because no matter what my Doctor said my health comes first and she will do what she sees fit even if I am in the study! lol She is pretty straight forward.

Re: Anyone offered studies?

I was in a "packing study". The docs in my practice do use it, but are investigating it's necessity, too. I said "yes please" after reading about the pain some princesses have had when it's removed. I didn't have the packing! Only downside was i had to have a vaginal ultrasound the day after surgery. Not very pleasant, but I was on pain meds at the hospital. And the ultrasound showed the catheter wasn t draining my bladder, so that was a plus. I'm supposed to receive $25 for participating, but i'm not concerned with that. I' do it again. But it would have sucked to have the packing AND the ultrasound!

Re: Anyone offered studies?

So far I have decided to stay in both studies. After carefully reading the paperwork the side effects of the medication rarely happen from just one dose. The side effects are related to people that take it everyday as a regular medication.

The benefits are less pain and nausea, which I am all for!
