Severe Congested Pelvis Syndrome

I finally had my pelvic congestion situation taken care of last week and, hopefully I will not have to go as far as a hysterectomy. Last Friday I had a venogram and embolization -- he wanted to see if PCS was what I really had. I am very happy that he did find something and placed several coils to help with the pooling. I am really hoping that this will cure my problems and I will have to go no further. I have been really uncomfortable for about a week and will probably for a week more. I am hoping I will be one of the lucky ones and be part of the high success rate from this procedure. Good luck with your surgery.

Severe Congested Pelvis Syndrome

I am also a person that had Severe Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. I had my TAH on Dec. 8, 2004, and feel like a new woman. The excruciating pain in my pelvic area, and legs, and sometimes even toes, is gone, and my irritable bowels are a little better, too. I did not know I was going to have to have my ovaries removed until the last minute. (I guess I thought they would be with me forever.) BUT my doctor said the pelvic congestion will attack the ovaries if they were left. I was put on HRT immediately, and everything is great.........well ALMOST everything. I still need to lose some of this weight........and get rid of this swelly belly. It drives me crazy...why can't I feel good and look decent, as well.

Pcs

It's nice to know there are others out there going thru the same thing I am.
I am at 12 weeks post-op and still hurting from PCS. It is not as bad as before surgery, but still bad enough to have to take advil everyday.
I am in hopes that like some of you gals said, the veins still need to shrink, Maybe I am not giving it enough time. My Pain is really in my hips and down my legs more than in my pelvis area, anyone else?
I learned something interesting while reading my medical records. {By the way I think EVERYONE needs to have a copy of there medical history} I had several cysts in my TUBES. That would explain why Ovulation would hurt SO bad. anyway, thanks for all the posts. We all can cry together now sisters.

Itsie,
how long after surgery did your pain go away? I am at my wit's end.

Severe Congested Pelvis Syndrome

Molly,
I think it took a little while for my pain to go away. It was so bad prior to surgery, though, that when it eased up as much as it did, I felt like a new woman. I really took it easy after surgery, though, because my incision had opened when they took out the staples out, I knew I did not have much choice. I still have a little tinge of pain now and then, especially if I over-do it, but as I said earlier, nothing compared to the constant pain I was having pre-surgery.
If I could just get tid of this B*E*L*L*Y!!!!!
It is a good idea to get my medical records? Does it cost anything and how do I go about doing that?
Try to relax, take more advil......and good luck. It will get better.

Itsie, all you have to do is request in writing to your doctor that you would like a copy of your records. I just faxed my request in. It has to be signed and dated by you and then they will send them to you. At least that is how it is in the state of Washington.
It doesn't cost anything from the Dr. From the hospital you have to call into records and they will copy them for you, but I thinkit is like 10 cents a page, nothing too major. It was so worth it to me to see what was going on withthe CT scans and stuff, I also found out that I have Scoliosis. interesting huh?
Thanks for the info take care

Severe Congested Pelvis Syndrome

I just went to the hospital records department. You sign the paper and you can get copies of any of the reports right on the spot. I loved reading my surgery report. I really wish they'd video taped it. There's a whole list of stuff you can get. However, only a few of the reports I could fully understand. I go in Wednesday for my six week and I am going to ask about my path report.
