Hi tbird,

Hmmm, this one is confusing. Most often fibroids are diagnosed via ultrasound (abdominal and trans-vaginal) rather than CT scan. When you went to the ER, did they specifically tell you that your 5 to 6 month uterus size was due to fibroids?

If your gyn says it is not fibroids, then what is his/her explanation? I know that adenomyosis can cause an enlarged uterus ... and a thickened uterine lining can be a symptom of pre-cancerous or cancerous conditions such as endometrial cancer. I would hope that your gyn offered some possible explanation.

What treatment option(s) did your gyn discuss with you? If this enlarged uterus is making it diffucult (or impossible) for you to pass urine, it sounds like a pretty serious condition to me.

Maybe it is time to get a second opinion from another gyn. I'm sure you're not too excited about seeing yet another doctor, but at this point I think you need some answers. Please keep us posted on what you find out. Sending hugs your way.

Beth
