If the Ovaries are still intact can you go through surgical menopause?

I am freaking out cause I just read this on the site.
Night Sweats and Insommia with Ovaries Intact

I seem to be experiencing night sweats and insommia 6 weeks post op from having a TLH. Is this possibly symptoms of the menapause?

Reply by Amie Napier, MD

Night sweats and insomnia are symptoms of menopause. One of two things may be happening: you may be experiencing a transient menopause due to your surgery, or you may be heading into menopause unrelated to your surgery - only time will tell.

What is transient menopause? Does anyone know? I have had "hot flashes" and insomnia, as well as emotionally unstable since surgery, and I thought it cant be menopause cause I kept my cervix AND ovaries. But I read that and Im wondering is it possible?

Re: If the Ovaries are still intact can you go through surgical menopause?

Transient means temporary. You could be experiencing temporary menopause symptoms or they could be permanent due to disruption of the blood supply to your ovaries. You need to understand how the blood supply to the ovaries works. Not all women are "wired" the same when it comes to the ovarian blood supply. Some ladies get their blood supply from the ovarian artery only, some get it from the uterine artery only and most of us get it from both. If you have it from both arteries, then menopausal symptoms should be a temporary thing until your ovaries "wake up". If you are one of the lucky ones that have the blood supply come entirely from the ovarian artery, you probably won't have any issues, however, if the blood supply is all from the uterine artery, you could be in permanent menopause because that artery is cut and tied off during hysterectomies. Here is a diagram that will show what I am talking about. Only time will tell what has happened to you and will happen. I hope this helps.
