Prolapsed bladder / Pessary rings

Hi red agnes!

I just want to say, that if you decide to go for the surgery please see a uro/gyn. They have additional training in the diagnoses and treatment of prolapse and incontinence issues. Trust me on this, a uro/gyn is worth their weight in gold! Take care and let us know how you make out..

Prolapsed bladder / Pessary rings

Red Agnes: I agree with huntingandmoon, if you decide to have the surgery please look for a uro-gyn or at least a gyn who is knowledgeable about pelvic reconstruction. When I had my hysterectomy, I went to my regular gyn. He did a bladder tack, but nothing for the rectocele that was already developing. Therefore a year later I had to have surgery again to correct that. Now after my third surgery for prolapse, I'm not sure what I would do if I had it all to do again. I've had recurrent yeast infections etc. since my last surgery and now am still having discomfort in my vaginal area (burning, raw, irritation). I don't mean to scare you. Everyone is different and I did have five good years between surgery #2 & #3. None of this is easy for us Ladies, but hang in there! You do have support here.

Prolapsed bladder / Pessary rings

my hysterectomy is scheduled for Fri. Jan. 6h. They are doing anterior & posterior repain for my prolapsed bladder & uterus. It is to be paparoscopic assisted vaginal which I am told recovery should go easier. I am 57 so I will keep you informed as to what I think.

R57: Today is Jan. 8 and if you are like me, you are home already from your surgery. I do hope it went well for you and you will have a quick recovery. It does take time though and I've never been a very patient person. I try to rush my recovery times each time I have surgery. I know they will inform you of precautions you should take like lifting etc. Also, be sure to ask about HRT if you had a complete hysterectomy. The sooner you get some hormones, the better I think you will do in the long run. Please keep us informed when you are able.
