I can't imagine anyone missing their period. The way mine have been the last 10 months, I say good bye enthusiastically. I hate every minute of them now...not that I liked them before. Yeah to no period!

Re: Silly Questions

Actually it was a question I was going to ask because I'm also due to start the day before my surgery - so not silly at all!

Re: Silly Questions

Well a standard cycle is every 27 days (or close to that) so if you keep your ovaries, and you aren't menopausal, your ovaries will produce an egg.
You may have the standard PMS type symptoms of breast tenderness and mood swings (if you had those before). Many women say the symptoms decrease over time.

The ovary will release the egg it will travel down the fallpian tube and be reabsorbed into your body. If you don't have a uterus or cervix there will be no bleeding because there isn't anything there for the build up in anticipation of fertilization.
If you keep your cervix, since it is actually part of the uterus, you could have a mini-period. That is why some surgeons do cauterization.

I hope that helps explain things.

Thank you so much...this does explain things. I should be good then since they are removing the cervix too. I do get some mood swings and cramps but other than that...nothing I can't handle. Compared to what I have been dealing with...it should be so much easier!
