Anesthetist Appt Today

My surgery is July 20 and I have my anesthetist appointment today. I was going to have my pre-admission visit over the phone but when the nurse found out I have an autoimmune disease, she said I have to meet with the anesthetist. Each one of these meetings/appointments just makes it more and more real and I'm freaking out. I know I'm going to cry through the whole appt today and the doctor will think I'm a nut. I feel very alone.

Re: Anesthetist Appt Today

Just have your questions and info ready. They are used to scared patients. If you have fears about pain or nausea bring them up, too. Could anyone go with you? My friend got sick so I had to go alone, I know it can be rough. Let us know how your appt goes. Sending hugs.

Re: Anesthetist Appt Today

Thank you. Right after I posted this the hospital called and cancelled the appt. They received some info from the rheumatologist and the anethestist no longer felt it necessary. I was relieved. I wish my DH could come with me to some of these things but the nature of his work doesn't allow time for that. Thank you for your support :-)
