8 week post-op and I've seen the light at the end of the long tunnel
Today is 8 weeks and I had my 8 week post-op today. Happy to say I am cleared for all activities. yay !!!! I am lucky because I am feeling wonderful and do feel completely healed. I am lucky because I did have many comlications after surgery like post op bleed that had to be radiologically embolized, 6 blood transfusions and my first UTI with a 102 f fever. I spent a long uncomfortable and scary week in the hospital. I went through the familiar bowel and gas problems for many weeks and had many one step forward two steps back incidents (cleaning the house too soon, food shopping too soon, etc.,etc.,etc.) I'm greatful to have that all behind me. My only source of saddness is that my doctor has taken an emergency medical leave of absence. He has been my doctor for 20 years and I have been through infertility and a high risk pregnancy that resulted in my quadruplets that are now 16 years old. No one in his office will say what his illness is and I had to see one of his associates today that said that my doctor is being secretive and that the office doesn't know what his illness is but that he will be out for a couple of months. Well i've rambled on long enough..... May all the sisters continue to heal and feel whole soon. Many thanks to this wonderful website which has gotten me through many tough days and the many wonderful sisters that have given me support along my road to recovery. God Bless Everyone as you heal.
I'm living proof that things do get better with time.

I am so happy for you!! I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow and I am feeling more sore in my tummy then right after surgery. I know the more you do the more sore you will become but I am very uplifted by your story. I just need to have more patience and keep trusting in GOD it WILL get better! *Hugs* to you my dear sister and God bless you!!!

Re: 8 week post-op and I've seen the light at the end of the long tunnel
PlumNice,
Isa 41:10 is and has been my "lifetime" Bible verse since I was 16!!
Also, re: 8 weeks "light at the end of the tunnel," that is encouraging... as long as it's not a train! I'm at 7 wks, and there was a major positive shift at 6 weeks, which was quite a relief after having felt amazingly well 1.5 to 3 weeks, then taking a serious dip into phys pain and off and on depression wks 3-5.5.
Last Friday I was actually able to go S H O P P I N G in a more upscale mall with my adult daughter... I'm not big into shopping but I love it when I have the money and end up buying new clothes and boots, etc, that make me feel free spirited and a bit "chic"in my hippie-ness (yes, think '60s). Anyway, I had a fair amount of energy, the sun was out and I felt HAPPY, really really happy for the first time since the surgery... I mean, happy enough to whoop it up in the car ("WoooHooo!" at the top of my lungs) to my music cranked up as I sped along down the freeway
XXOO all you hyster sisters! THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!
