Vaginal opening question

You are welcome Taller. I had to ask the question because i'm concerned and didn't find where anyone else had the same issue. I'm glad i'm not the only one though.

Well I went to the doctor today and complained about a bigger opening with extra skin and he said everything looks fine and I'm snug as a bug, no prolapse, all healed up, and vagina is way up there. I told him there didn't seem to be that extra skin there before and he explained that it's where the hymen used to be a long time ago. He said if he did a stitch to tighten it up anymore, I would be too small. I guess I'm just imagining things and need to relax, but I still think something different so, I'll just monitor it and if it becomes an issue look into rejuvenation at some point.

thanks for the update Sasue. I don't understand the DR saying thats where the hymen used to be. If thats the case, you would have thought you'd seen this extra skin long before now. But i'm not a DR either, so I guess we rely on what the experts tell us.

Sasue, your hunch is right about not letting just any Dr. do any adjustments. I attempted to send you a private email with the information you requested, if you don't get it that means that I didn't send it properly, so email me via our site proceedures and eventually you will have the referral.

My surgeon (whom I love dearly, she has been my ob-gyn for 25 years) was herself reluctant to attempt my "repair" because she hadn't encountered my problem before (is my DH really that wide???). I went back to her with my second and third opinion suggestions and she helped me decide which of the two "vaginal plastic surgeons" I should use. I felt/feel fully supported by her, and I intend to continue to have her be my primary Dr.

Hi Mindy Thank you for addressing my question. I was thinking maybe I would have to go through another repair job. I was freaking out a bit thinking, "Oh no, not another prolapse." I will just see how things go. I feel much better about it now. I sincerely hope things work out for you, Mrs MAK and SaSue. These are issues one just doesn't anticipate. All best. awww sorry to hear you not happy with your results of the surgery, my vagnial opening is way smaller than it was before, my perinium had been destroyed by tearing before so that was reconstructed and it feels quite odd to me know and alittle tight but im sure i will get used to it and im sure it will stretch in time.

I agree, sharing is invaluable. I can't imagine how alone I would feel if I didn't have my sisters here to listen to me. I feel very grateful for this site.

Hi I had a posterior vag repair 10 years ago because of being so large. very painful op - much more painful than the hysterectomy i had 3 weeks ago!!
