Is anyone trying a natural alternative to HRT???

Just curious ladies...I am using a low dose hormone replacement patch but I would like to get off of that ASAP. My doctor recommended waiting until I heal a little bit more before I try and go through that alone. I have seen the Evostation supplements (not sure of the spelling) is anyone trying a natural alternative to HRT???

Hi DSU! I am curious about a natural alternative as well. I had cancer in '97 so hormone therapy was something that was a complete no..no. I had my 3 wk checkup on 8/10 (I had a TAH on 7/14) and I go back in 3 wks. My dr mentioned putting me on a hormone for a short time which I have reservations about. Anyone have any suggestions......or anyone taking a natural supplement and having great results?

I am unable to use HRT due to liver tumors (still working on a solution for those) that I ended up getting from being on the birth control pill for 20 years. My oncologist said no more synthetic hormones for me! So I am using a combination of several things. My gynecologist and I visited about what I should use and right now I am using: Soy, Black Cohosh, Evening Primrose Oil, Wild Yam Root and Menopause Essentials. I have been using these since July 10. I do get a few hot flashes during the day and have had a few night sweats, but since I haven't been able to use HRT, I guess I don't know anything different and don't have anything to compare it to. I am curious about natural therapies as well. I am now on Premarin but I really would like to go all natural if possible. I am looking into Estroven which you can get at a local pharmacy- funny thing is I used the Estroven PMS years ago and it really helped me tremendously so I am wondering if that will help. I haven't had any symptoms yet, but my doctor recommended I try Black Cohosh as an alternative to HRT, should menopausal symptoms begin...

I did not want any HRT so I bought a product called HOT FLASHES at the natural store and its working, I still have night sweats but the hot flashes are getting milder, Don't know if its the product, it has the black cohosh, and soy.

I have a DO that I use as a consult and I am sure that he would have ideas about natural hormones. You might try consulting a DO in your area.
