bruising??

Hmm?, I'm Not Sure If This Is Bruising Or What? It Has Been 10 Weeks Since My Total Hysterectomy And Bladder Lift. I Notice Above My Incision On My Tummy It Still Looks Bruised? The Area That Is Numb. How Long Does It Take For This To Go Away? Is This Normal?? I Am A Large Woman With A Large Tummy.

I actually had the numbness up until about 1 maybe 2 months ago. I am just now 9 months. I think it takes a very long time for nerves to reconnect, so don't worry I think what you have going on is normal, but if your really stressed about it call your dr. to ease your mind. If not, just relax and know at 10 weeks the healing is just beginning. One day you'll wake up and realize your tummy doesn't feel numb or bruised anymore- mine still feels different, but no more numbness or bruised feeling. Hang in there!

Although my tummy doesn't look bruised(it did for a few weeks)
the lower part of it does feel numb. I am also a large woman with a big tummy and now after the TAH, I have this horrible "poochy" part just above the bikini incision that is numb.
I'm still getting swelly belly at 10 wks. but there are some days I haven't swelled which has been nice.
I just try telling myself even though I may not be exactly normal yet, there is going to be a new normal instead! And maybe that won't be so bad.
