Question about Swelly Belly after LSH

I have a question for other LSH ladies: I am 37 w/2 kids and am 4 days post op LSH. I was in horrible abdominal pain for 9 months, and I am confident that LSH was the best decision for me.

My question is about swelly-belly. I recognized it right away from my pre-op reading on this site. However, I also feel really bloated and feel like I can't take a full breath or eat a full meal. Actually, I felt exactly this way when I was pregnant with baby #2 because I carried him so high. My solar plexus is also tender to the touch.

Mostly I just feel disgusting! Is this feeling part of swelly belly? Will it just go away on its own?

thanks!

Question about Swelly Belly after LSH

Hi Aohora,
Sorry no one has responded to this one yet!

It sounds like swelly belly to me. As to how long it lasts, that varies from sister to sister. I'm almost 5 weeks out and I still get a bit of a belly when I overdo it physically or mentally, but it's nothing like what I experienced in the first 2 weeks. You may also be having some post-op gas. Walking helps with that, and it should be gone soon.

If you're really concerned, give your doc's office a call. Can't hurt to ask and it'll put your mind at ease.

Be good to yourself!!

Question about Swelly Belly after LSH

I got this feeling as well, not sure if it's swelly belly but gas. I took GasX like they were lollies, walked a little etc to get the gas moving, once the gas started moving around day 5 it really eased that horrid feeling. I couldn't even eat it was so awful.

Question about Swelly Belly after LSH

I had my LSH on August 11. I think you are having gas pains. But I have
also called my doctors office several times with questions. They don't mind
you calling and asking questions, so if in doubt call. I had a drainage from
my belly button over the weekend and I called emer line and nurse called me back. It was gross, sorta like ear wax but really stinky!!!! They told me
to peroxide it 3-4 times a day and make sure to dry it out. They had me come in this morning for a looksee and said they thought it was dried blood and seepage coming out from the surgery not infection that was my worry.
