SAH 11 months Post Op Hysterectomy Constipation and Vaginal Pain

I am almost 1yr post op and I still have problems with constipation. I use a suppository about once a week and I notice that they make me have vaginal pain. Has anyone else experienced this, if so what has helped.

I have had something similar but then I had my uterus removed vaginally. But, my bowels are still not back to normal and when I do have one even though I am careful not to strain my vagina will hurt. I don't know if it is vaginal dryness - which I am not sure how that feels - since I am not on hormones so it is more sensitive to any bowel straining. Odd that it only hurts when I sit, less when I lay down and not when I walk. My fear is a rectocele so I use milk of mag, which the doctor recommended at my 3 months check-in. I take 1 tablespoon every couple days which seems to keep me moving without a big sudden evacuation that I got taking 2 tbls.

I had a rectocele repair and some rectum repair surgery with my LAVH. I have taken stool softeners since my surgeries in June. My dr said to keep taking them to avoid straining or constipation. Colace or Miralax work wonders but you must drink lots of water through the day. Hope this helps!
