I just fell

Glad you're ok. 12 days post-op I slipped in the kitchen (after spray for fruit flies settled on the floor) and ripped my incision open. Unlike you I didn't check my incision right away. I was more concerned that my arm had hit the edge of the cabinet and my hand was numb...felt like the funny bone even though that wasn't the part that I hit. It took a few minutes before I realized that I was wet, looked down and saw all the blood and open incision. That was just part of it...took three days of fooling around with steri strips every day at the ER before the general sugeon came to consult and agreed that he could close it with sutures.

Be careful though...the day after this happened to me was the worst! I felt like dying...of course went back to the ER where they told me I either tore a muscle or tore some sutures that were holding the muscle in the abdominal wall.

Make sure you take it easy and allow your body to recover from this...even if nothing is showing on the outside, every little thing we do that can cause even a little tiny tear or bleeding can lead to adhesions, and we all know what a mess those can be to deal with!
