Question for those with Depo Provera experience
I was wondering if any ladies out there ever took Depo Provera to stop endo(chemical menopause) and if what you experienced on that would be how you would feel in menopause?

Question for those with Depo Provera experience
I tired it and for me well it did slow the bleeding but i got headaches and gained a lot of weight. gained 10 pounds in one month .. even though i excersised 45 minutes 4 tiems a week and ate special k for breakfst and salad for lunch , small dinners and snaked on plain pop corn . dr said some people do gain weight on it but not usualy as much as i did usualy jsut a pound or two .. but it did ease my bleeding. i would recomed giving it a try , if i wouldnt of been one of the unlucky ones with weight gain i would of tried to stay on it

Question for those with Depo Provera experience
I took 4 shots of depo in the mid 90's strictly for birth control. I had no weight gain but my sex drive became non-existent. It came back but it never was what it once was.

Question for those with Depo Provera experience
I took depo provera for 7 yrs. I never had a period on it and it helped me alot with my endo.
I also took it prior to my tah/bso because of the pain and heavy bleeding.
I hope it helps you as much as it helped me.

Question for those with Depo Provera experience
I was on depo for 14 years for endo and heavy bleeding. It worked great but when I had a DEXA scan in oct of 06 I was DX with osteopeinia and was taken off of it.In april of 07 I started my period for the first time in 13 years and allmost bled to death!I had horrible pain and was admitted to the hospital and had a lap done.My GYN found that my left tube had adhered to my abdomonal wall and twisted and that it had been that way since i had a hernia repair done when I was an infant.I was put back on depo since she also found a lot of endo.she burnt out what she saw but thought that the depo would keep in check.I never quit having the pain or the bleeding so in oct she did the hyst.I also exprinced menopause from the depo.Up untill I had the surgery I was only getting the hotflashes and night sweats.after I had my lap done in apr I thought that I was having really bad yeast infections and treated for them at home.in aug I was so very sore in my vagina that I could not walk with out wanting to cry out in pain so I went to my gyn. When she examined me she thought I had a STD.When I told her that I had not had sex in over 5years she was stumped. She ran every test she could inclueding a hormone level.I was so progestronized and had all most no estrogen from being on the depo that the tears that I had from my lap in april could not heal because of vaginal atrophy. It has taken untill just last week for those tears heal with the use of estrace cream and estrace pills.I am still having hot flashes and night sweats though.I am on the lowest dose of estrogen that I can be on because of the endo.I also have to have another dexa scan done to see how much bone I have lost in the last year.I hope some of this helps.

Question for those with Depo Provera experience
I was on it for 6 months in the 90s and I was bleeding the entire time. Hated it. Periods were lighter and less painful though.

Question for those with Depo Provera experience
Thanks for all your respones. My experience with it was when I was getting ready to have the second shot I just couldn't do it. It (the shot) made me VERY moody. I mean to the point of feeling like hurting someone! If having no periods causes that then I certainly don't wnat this hysterectomy that will put me in menopause. I just don't know if it was the shot that caused it or being put into menopause.
