I have a date!

I saw the surgeon today...and we have a date on Oct. 9 to do the hystertomy. Leaving my ovaries but taking my tubes. We are doing it the robot way. Sorry don't know the term.

It was good to see your date coming up as before my date on the 4th Oct seemed to be the furthest one booked ahead. I feel like I am moving up the waiting list now!

Good to have a date, mine is oct 12th however i'm getting a second opinion Friday morning so it could change

For all you sisters waiting for your upcoming date to approach, the waiting is the hardest. Try not to let worrying consume your thoughts and replace any negative thoughts with positive ones. The most positive thought is to concentrate on the better quality of life that awaits you!!

The waiting is the hardest part 21 hours post op here and I can tell you the waiting and worrying is the worst. Come to this board and share how scared you are and let your feelings come out. The ladies of this site have been wonderful and have reached out to me when needed and they will you also. One thing that I read on this site and did not bring with me to the hospital was one of those wooden backscratchers. OMG last night I itched so badly laying in bed all day and I could not reach the itch at all....lol I had the nurse bring me a fork and I could not reach the center of my back so I had her do it...lol

Ladies in waiting please dont be nervous or scared, there will be pain I will not lie, but a few hours after surgery when they get the right meds in you, you will be feeling great. I ended up with a horizontal incession about 11".

I could have gone in next Tuesday however I need to make sure things are covered here at home. I can't count on my 21 year old for NOTHING. I have my 64 year old Mother living here too. I can't leave everything to her so I need to have as much prepared and done as possible.

So I took the date in Oct. I would have pushed even further back but I need to be at work for the holiday season. I should be going back either the week before or of Thanksgiving.

So now the lists begin of everything I want done before hand. I even took off the weekend before the bowl prep to make sure everything is done.

Your 21 yr old may just surprise you and be more of a help than you think. My 23 yr old was a tremendous help to me. She didn't do everything the that I liked it done and she was a little slow with it sometimes but I'm thankful that all three (23,18,7) helped. They were more of a help than my husband. I'll keep you in prayer on that.

Congrats Blu mine is on Oct 8th, planning for Davinci. This board is great with concerns, worries questions etc...

I understand the wait until Oct, I had to plan mine around work chaos and school schedules. I agree, this waiting thing is really tough, a lot of time to question and think, but I'm still sure I am doing the right thing.

I also hope your 21 yr old can step up. I also have my FIL living with me but he is completely worthless and I don't say that lightly.
