Re: Help!

Meloxicam is an anti immflamitory medication it is used for pain and sometimes for swelling due to inflammation . The progestone can be used to for different issues depends on what your issues are.

Re: Help! Medication concerns before surgery

Hello Millsfam4!
My gyn put me on progestine (Norethindrone) for excess bleeding, because the combo pill I was on was raising my blood pressure. So that might be the reason for that. Meloxicam is a pain reliever, I believe. If you have questions about this, I would talk to your doctor. Most doctors like it when patients want to know more and stay informed about what it happening.

Re: Help! Medication concerns before surgery

That's a long time to take meds you don't understand the reason for. Call the Dr's office and ask to either speak to him, or get a detailed explanation relayed from the nurse. We can only make guesses as to what his intent was, and that's not really helping you. Your pharmacist should be able to give you some info on side effects, and if you think the meds are causing problems, report that to your Dr. I know some Dr's don't make themselves very available, but often a detailed phone message about your question can expedite things. I hope you can get the answers you need.
