cystocele, rectocele AND hysterectomy???

I appreciate your input and will look for that article. Despite the hot flashes I wasn't planning to have my ovaries removed - I've read/learned enough about it all that I would keep them and my cervix if I do have a hysterectomy. Basically I thought I would make it a "medical decision" since my dr. said he would not necessarily recommend it unless the uterus is more than 1/2 prolapsed. But there are 3 people I know of already who did not have the hysterectomy and then had to go back and have it done 2-5 years later. This is pretty major surgery and I still have young kids (despite my age) and do not want to have to do repeat surgery within 3-5 yrs. So, I am still considering not doing it, but am reading, consulting, thinking, talking. Thanks again. Nechama

I'm another - had cystocele and rectocele repair and then had to go back for more surgery for a hysterectomy just 4 months later - the uterus prolapse got much worse after the bladder was moved out of the way... good luck with your decision.

I had all three done last Wednesday (6/15). I debated back and forth for several weeks and then decided to go ahead and do it. I'm glad I did even though right now I'm having the pain in the rear waiting for the first bm.
Thanks for your response it just makes reassures me and helps anyone else out there with the same kind of problem.
