Only one ovary after hysterectomy. (2010)

Hi, I'm 44 years old and had my hysterectomy last March 2009. They took my uterus, as well as my right ovary. A year after my surgery, I experienced anxiety, hot flashes and so often get irritated with stuff which prior my surgery, I don't really mind at all. Despite my surgery, I was alarmed that I am spotting which prompted me to see my doctor again. The doctor cuterized the bleeding part and since then the spotting stops. However, according to my doctor a cyst is found in my remaining ovary and probably I need to go another surgery. I took 3 opinions and were adviced to go under the knife again.

By the way, at that time that I was going through anxieties, I enrolled in school to avoid thinking about myself going to die every time. At night, I dont want to switch off the light because the moment the light is off I am starting to get nervous of many things. Since I went back to school, I overcame my fear of the night and the dark.

About the smells, it is good that you mentioned it because I was wondering also what caused the awful smell.

Hi all..
I had a TAH and right ovary removed last July due to germ cell ovarian cancer. Spent the first 3 months, not only in pain but awful night sweats! Everything has returned to normal (even my skin cleared up for the first time in years!? ) Had a hernia op this January and now have found out that they have to go back in for the left ovary due to further tests showing it will probably cause me trouble in the future :-(
I will let you all know what life holds for me post surgical menopause? Must say..I'm more than a little apprehensive but guess mood swings and hot flushes are better than cancer..
