Insomnia???

I'm 9 days post op. Since my surgery, I"ve got problems sleeping, mainly getting comfortable, staying comfortable etc. Yesterday, I was dragging ALL day, I slept off and on til 3 pm AFTER the best night of sleep I have had so far. Now, I cant sleep at all. Is this common?

Insomnia???

Im at 4 weeks post op and have periodic insomina. Followed by a day of high blood pressure.Hoping that it straightens out soon. Have you tried to just tone everything down at night dim the lights an hour befor bed ? I took my pain pills curled up with a good boring book and my body pillow found that helped to support my tummy.I hate sleeping on my back but it was to uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach until about last week.Ive also noticed that I have some really weird dreams.Ive just chalked it up to hormones.Hope you get some decent sleep soon take care .

Insomnia???

I am experiencing insomnia as well. I had my surgery on 2/3/09, and since then I have NOT been able to sleep. I am always tired and very aggravated because of the lack of good sleep. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Insomnia???

I still haven't gotten a lot of relief with the insomnia 3 months post-op. But i had some trouble before anyway. Now i find that a warm bath and heating pad still help relax me, i thought that it would change once the problem was removed but it hasn't yet, i still have hope that it will.

Good luck!

Insomnia???

Thanks for suggestions. I got a prescription (Ambien) from my Oncologist today, and I am hoping that this will help me get back into a routine of regular sleep. I did buy some lavender bath gel, and I am hoping that this with combo of the Ambien will get me back to the sleep.

Insomnia???

I havent taken any prescription pain meds since my surgery-I had one shot of pain meds the night of my surgery, and since then, have been taking ibuprofen. Stronger pain meds have a tendency to make me vomit, and my stomach has been so sore, I cant imagine dealing with throwing up. Laughing and caughing hurt enuf!! lol Luckily, the ibuprofen is doing it for me. I was sent home percoset, and I have thought of taking one before bed just to see if it helps me sleep.
I think my problem with sleeping mainly has to due with not being active enuf....physically or mentally. Until a few months ago, I worked 2 jobs and my 40 hr day job can be mentally demanding at times.
