Pre-Op yesterday - Yippee! no Bowel prep for me!

Hey Sisters!

Well, tomorrow's the big day! And, yesssssss, I do have to do a bowel prep beginning later today. Fortunately, it's pills instead of drinking that yucky tasting stuff. Hoping that it'll help me lose a couple of the pounds I put on while on vacation last week!

Gonna go color my hair now, so it'll look pretty all fluffed out on my pillows--or maybe I won't look so old (45!?) I figure I won't be able to bend over the sink for awhile post-op, so better do it now!

Best wishes to all!

OrahDeb,

I am doing housework today and everytime I take a break I am glued to the computer - it's become an obsession. Wow you have a lot of children - hope they can help you out with recovery and each other.
I was hoping the same thing - that the bowel problems will become easier without all the other problems down there (my current doctor agrees) I also agree with your doctor if having the rectocele repaired is anything like having spincter surgery - that was awful - I had to sit on a donut for a month and I was fine until the pain medicine wore out - then it was bad. That stupid doctor wouldn't give me any pain meds past 5 days post-op - I was up walking around - fine - then with tylenol - I was in trouble couldn't even stand up straight - started healing in a hunched position had to force myself to finally stand up straight and could feel all the connective tissue that had started to heal tearing - ugh.
Let us know how your pre-op goes tomorrow.

Beachy, Yes! Go color your hair while you still care about it! Icky about the bowel prep stuff but at least it's not the really bad stuff. Good luck and I hope you receive the Best of the Best care at the Castle tomorrow!

Bowlinggrl,

My kids are pretty good about helping especially when they see I truly need it. My 2 older daughters can cook simple things fairly well and the 2 youngest seem eager to run up and down the stairs for me however many times I need it.

Yeah, I remember the episiotomies I had with my first 2 kids--ouchie, oww, oww, OUCH!!! I am NOT at all eager to try and repeat that experience. Still, I think it will be enough as it is and somewhat painful at least initially.

I'll be sure to post after my pre-op tomorrow. My insurance was still giving my GYN's office hassles last Friday. I found out it was mainly because their contact person for my DH's former employer was out of the office last week and no one could legally open her e-mails that had the info in them. <sigh> I am pretty sure all that is resolved now since the insurance folks did call me last Friday afternoon to tell me everything looked up to date. My GYN's office was closed at that point so hopefully it will all be resolved by the time I go in tomorrow. It's just one more stress factor that's driving me nuts. AS IF I don't already have enough to worry about.....<sigh>
