Starving!!

I'm three days post-hysterectomy, and I am starving! All the time! Not sorta-hungry-could-use-a-snack but absolutely starving! Oh, and I'm craving sweets like they're going out of style!

I'm not on any HRT yet (my doc makes that decision at my 4 week check-up), and I'm not having any menopausal side effects yet (hot flashes, night sweats, etc) - but could this be a side effect?

Aside from that, I feel great! I'm having weird dreams and laying around tired, but I seriously would start back to my normal routine of my husband and mother-in-law weren't freaking out every time I leave the couch to go to the bathroom! My stomach is bruised, especially my belly button area, but the only really strange thing is my hunger. Anyone else go through this?

(While I wait for you to respond, I'm going to see if I can find a can of frosting and some graham crackers....who are we kidding, I don't need graham crackers!! )

Starving!!

My surgery was at 7:30 am and I did not get food till 5pm but it was clear liquid (yucky) it was midnight before I got "real" food, I though I was starving!! I craved sweets for days after words. I just figured it was cause they made me go with out food for so long by body wanted to make up for the lost time..lol...

I bet I would have went longer with out food but I know how the hosptial clock works (cause I work in one, I knew how I would have put the order in had it been me) so at 12:05 I was asking for food cause I knew it was the next day. I was so proud of myself for remembering that and getting "real food"

Yes, I was very hungry the 2nd and 3rd days(maybe the 4th through 6th too). PArt of it is you are so bored, also if you had a bowel prep and all that you need to replace what you lost. Enjoy the frosting

I was like that for a while after, and now all i seem to want is chocolate. Normal for some girls but if you put a bacon sandwich and a bar of chocolate infront of me before the op, it would be the bacon everytime! now, it has to be creamy, yummy, melting chocolate!
(talking of which, where is my new bar??!!)
love to you

I've had nothing but cravings for chocolate lately.Of course ,everyone knows that chocolate is a vegetable(it comes from the cocoa bean and a bean is a vegetable). These last few days I'm feeling really stiff because the incision which was infected is beginning to tighten.

I don't know. I always thought of it as a fruit, you know cocoa beans grow on trees! So I say fruit or veggie who cares? It is an essential part of a healthy balanced diet

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a starving streak. LOL I had craving for beefy / salty things though mostly. It was about two days ago. I just felt like no matter how much I ate that day it was simply not enough. Today is another story. Not very hungry at all.
