When to start

I am 6 weeks post op today and feeling great. I have been walking and running but I need to start doing something for upper body strength. My doctor said at 6 weeks I would be fully released but I never asked about Pilates. Is it too soon? Thanks!

My dr told me at my 4 week check up that I could do Pilates but it was too soon. It hurt pretty bad for several days afterwards and I did a beginners DVD. I did Pilates almost everyday before my surgery. So I waited until it stopped hurting and have just been doing Pilates for the lower and upper body. I'm going to wait another week or two before I do abs. I will be 6 weeks po from TVH on Wednesday.
