how long does swelly belly last?

Okay sisters, I now know the meaning of the word swelly belly!!! lol So...how long does it last? I am on day 9 post op after a TAH...

Well....my doctor said to give it 6-9 months.....BUT....other women have said theirs has gone away quite a bit sooner!!!

I am 8 weeks post op and still have swelly Belly, still wearing sweat pants, regular clothes don't fit.
The swelling seems to get worse thru out the day, I hope
its goes way before summer. I hate feeling bloated all the time. Hope it goes away soon for you

I am a few weeks post LAVH - What kinds of clothes do you wear when none of your regular clothes do not fit and sweats are not acceptable for the occasion? I dug out a few pairs of maternity pants that I kept just incase we wanted to have another child (not anymore!), but I feel funny wearing them because I look pregnant in them. I am so frustrated that NOTHING in my wardrobe seems to fit me. Please help!

I am almost 5 weeks post op and have swelly belly still. (Not to mention the 12 lbs I gained from laying around) ... So frustrated!!!

My tummy isn't so bad in the mornings but later in the day or night it's out there. Especially the more I do. I walked and ran 3 miles today and have been pretty achey! My body is fussing at me.

I am like you girls, I am ready for it to go away!

I am 7 months post op from a TAH in June and I still have it. In the morning it is great, and then by night, I am swollen again. It was worse, and has gotten better with each day that passes, but it is definitely still there! Hang in there...it will get better! Just give it time, and let yourself rest. Lay down as much as possible! It's frustrating, I know, but time heals all.

It can be months. It is usually worse after we overdo.

I'm 7 weeks post-op and I've still got mine. I've been going to bed with a heating pad on my belly most every night. I'm in jeans that have a larger waist but every chance I get, I'm in knit lounge pants with soft elastic.

I am still just relaxing in pj's and night shirts...and although it has only been 12 days post op for me...it is definitely worse days end! I guess I thought it would be gone after 4 to 6 weeks.. as part of recovery

I am 6 wks post it's getting better. I wear long sweaters over leggings or long skirts with long tunics & sloch belts kinda cuts the waist. EAT MORE VEGGIES & FRUITS & DRINK LOT'S OF WATER. GOOD LUCK LYDSTER8
