Disability Assistance
Hi Ladies,
My surgery is scheduled for May 23 and I will be out of work approximately six weeks. I don't have enough vacation time or sick leave saved up to get me through that time.
I live in Florida and have tried to find information on disability benefits I might could sign up for during my recovery period, but can't seem to locate what I need. I don't have the optional disability insurance offered through work. (Silly me, I never thought I'd need it!) Does anyone in Florida have any information on any other type of benefit I could receive to help get me through my recovery time and who I need to contact for more information?
Thanks again. You ladies are wonderful!!!

Shashi,
I'm in Mulberry. Call the Mulberry Service Center. If you can't find the number, call Mulberry UMC Church 425-3401 (I think). The secretary can give you the number. They helped my dad when he was laid-off several times. They will pay one month rent. May have other benefits, too. Hope this helps you.
