Newbie going to the castle 2/23/04

Hi Ladies
I am new here and thank god I found this site. I have spent the past 48 hours reading over everything here. This is an awesome place with positive upbeat information.
I am scheduled for my 4th abdominal surgery for a hysterectomy and oopherectomy on 2/23/04 due to pelvic adhesive disease, polycystic ovary disease and a fibroid. I AM NERVOUS! I want the pain of polycystic ovaries gone but I am so afraid that I am not going to wake up from surgery this time around. I know I am being silly but I am a big girl at 264lbs. thanks to insulin resistance pertaining to polycystic ovary disease.
Is there anyone out there that was my size when they had their hysterectomy?

Toodles!
Autumn

Hi PrincessAutumn,

Welcome to Hyster Sisters!!

While I'm sorry that you have had so many surgeries, and are facing yet another one, I am glad that you found HS and posted to introduce yourself. Have you talked with your doctor about your concerns? Does he believe that your weight will cause a problem? I know that there have been several members who felt that they were also overweight, and I hope that they will see your post and offer you their experiences.

There have also been quite a few ladies with PCOS, and I'd like to encourage you to read the following thread (especially the posts by StampinCat):

https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...highlight=PCOS

Please also be sure to read the Pre-Op Hints and the Post-Op Hints. They are full of great advice that will help you to prepare for your surgery and recovery.

I hope you'll continue to read and to post any questions that you may have - we'll do our best to help.
