New with questions

Had total lap with vaginal out on 7/17...very little pain the first week, just took Ibuprofen for pain. After post op appt, I have some vaginal bleeding, rather more like a light mess. I am assuming this is normal but I had no discharge the first week out. I am finding that I have more pains or rather discomfort as time goes on. Is this normal? Went back to work 1 week after surgery, ok'd by doctor.

What about trapped gas in my stomach area? Is this normal? I have some issues with burning across my chest and upper abdomen since the surgery. Am I more susectible to heart attacks and strokes now after I have had surgery??

Re: New with questions

The burning sensations might be gas. Gas-x and mint tea helped me with that. I've had more aches and pains as I try to do more, but I think a certain amount of that is normal. If you are in great discomfort, call your doctor and see what he advises.

Re: New with questions

Hi (((Kevin11042)))

I think it would be a good idea to call your doctor about the burning sensations. It is always a good idea to let your doctor know if you are experiencing new pain. The discharge may be the start of your vaginal cuff stitches dissolving. That can last for a number of weeks. Take care!
