So, let me get this straight!

Ok, I had a TVH on Oct. 15th. I feel great. Had my 6 wk. checkup last week and had a very small amount of granulation that she put silver nitrate on. So, granulation can occur anytime down the road with anyone, and there can be spotting? I thought once I had a hysterectomy, I wouldn't have to ever worry about spotting again. Guess I'll still be checking when I wipe. grrrrr

Re: So, let me get this straight!

Obviously, noone understands how concerned I am about this granulation and silver nitrate. I don't want to worry about spotting the rest of my life. Maybe I'm making too much of it, and this will be the last of it. But, my goodness, is there ever a time when a woman can be sure she's not going to start spotting again even after a hysterectomy?

Re: So, let me get this straight!

This is the first I've heard that granulation could occur at any time. I'd assumed once you healed you were done with the worrying.

Re: So, let me get this straight!

Geeba,

I can understand your concern! While I didnt experience this, there are many posts where other sisters discuss it. If you type in granulation on the right side of your screen and click on the "google search" tab (it will default to only search this site), you will find quite a bit of information.

Hopefully another sister will come along that has personally had to deal with this though.

That's what I thought, too, but apparently not. Did you have it?

Re: So, let me get this straight!

No I didn't have a problem and just figured I was in the clear! I do have a friend who spotted a year after her hysterectomy but she never needed treatment for any kind of problem once she was checked out. I guess I thought it was possible to spot but that it was rare.

Well, I hope I'm done with the worrying, too. This is the only surgery I've ever had, and I'm 54 yrs. old.

That there was a very small spot of granulation, so she put silver nitrate on it. I asked her if this will ever happen again and she said "sometimes women will come in for their yearly, and they've had no symptoms like spotting, but there is granulation. Or if you ever spot call us, because there could be granulation".
