Question re: Keeping ovaries post-menopause

Hi Sisters-
I have a question, though I probably could ask my doctor. I am 2 weeks post op, doing good. Kept my cervix and ovaries. I am 57, post-menopausal, and take bio-identical estorgen, so don't expect having my uterus removed will affect hormones. Does anyone have the facts whether my ovaries make ANY difference at this point? I am not looking for opinions re keeping or removing, but rather any known facts about any function they have in my case. I seem to be feeling a little irritable and with increased libido after surgery, though I had no negative symptoms or libido problems before surgery. It could just still be the trauma to my body from surgery. I am so curious about the changes that occur after such an important surgery, whether pre or post menopause.

I can't seem to find anyone here post-op in my situation. Thanks for any help!

Re: Question re: Keeping ovaries post-menopause

I had a TLH for post menopausal bleeding and hyperplasia. My dr recommended that I keep my ovaries as they were healthy and still secrete some helpful hormones even after menopause. I never took any HRT before or after my surgery.
