period issues & chest pain

They say I am not a candidate for hysterectomy or anything else. I still have that time but I have what I call intermission. I start have for 2 days then stop for 2 days then start again for 2 days. Is this normal? I have also been having pain in left chest and shoulder. The left chest is from the chest to the nipple on left side of left side. I am new here and not sure if this is the correct site for me but thought give it a try. When I mentioned the "intermission" to a doctor 6 years ago they either didn't hear or didn't care and now am worried about mentioning the other issue for fear they blow it off too. I have had them ignore issues with my kids before and with me and don't need it again. How do I get them to listen?

Are you referring to a normal length period having this routine? I remember back when I had periods, the last few years I would start, have a couple days of light, then a last hurrah before it ended. So that part would not worry me as much as the chest pains. I would definitely bring that up with the doctor and if he ignores you - find a new one. It could be heart problems or indigestion, but the cause needs to be discovered.

As I said, if the doctor won't listen, then find another one if you can. If not, keep after your current one until something is done.
