Lower intestinal pain, 4 weeks post op
4 weeks post-op, kept both ovaries. My TVH was due to a severely trans-flexed uterus and fundal fibroid. I had been having a wrenching, intense, focused pain in my lower intestine when passing gas and stools for about a year. I believed this was caused by the fibroid and uterus being socked back into that area. I also believed that after the hysterectomy, that pain would go away...
Nope. In the two weeks right after surgery, the pain was so bad it would make me nauseous. Since then, the pain has gone back down only to the level it was before surgery.
Has anyone else with a trans-flexed uterus experienced this kind of intestinal pain? Did it ever abate after hysterectomy?

Re: Lower intestinal pain, 4 weeks post op
It's the Big Fear: what if the pain is still there post op? It's incredibly upsetting to go through this surgery and recovery and then find that specific pain you were hoping to be rid of may still be there. Has it got any better since you posted this? I found it took my organs (bladder and intestines) 3-4 months to settle after surgery. You should discuss with your doctor, s/he may want to do some tests to make sure you aren't having a complication from surgery. You may also wish to be referred to a GI specialist if things don't improve. I am sending you healing thoughts, I hope you feel better soon.
