(((Lalitha)))
How are you doing? Are you continuing to have problems? I count 10 wks out from your surgery. I would guess you would be feeling quite a bit better now.

We all heal at different rates depending on how much work we had done and if we have had complications. It isn't ususual to have some discomfort as you try to do normal things, but you should be finding you can do most of what you normally do.

Please let us know how you are feeling and any special problems you're having. I hope everything is ok. It's best to add things back in a little at a time until your body is ready to handle it all. It can take several months to completely heal. Keep us posted on your progress.

I cant sit single min. without doing anything, I always to keep the house clean & tidy & to beat the emotional stress I have to do some exercise right! but wat to do? I dont have any physical problem except the ovarian fibroids without my knowledge dr. removed my ovaries & all, I came to know only after my
surgery ! whn I asked dr. she said anyways the ovaries are not working in future for your good I removed it.

Can u pls. tell me if ovaries removed, shld take more care & rest in my life, not lifting & no hard working for few more months, I really handicapped, if so. And also many people are telling in future u may be having bone & back problem.

Hi again,
Thank you for the good reply and added information. I'll try to help with a few things. First, I wonder what kind of instructions you have been given by your doctor? Has your doctor told you not to be exercising and doing your yoga or are you finding it difficult to do because you have pain?

It makes a difference if your dr has given you limitations. You will always want to make sure to follow those and if you have questions about what he/she has said be sure to call or go in and make sure you are understanding what you need to do or not do.

I can't really tell you what you can do because I don't know what your doctor has said and I'm not in your body to feel what you are feeling. I will share some guidelines that are generally true to see if that might help. There are women who are given limitations in lifting because of repair work they have had done. When the cervix has been removed there is some danger of prolapse when you do heavy lifting. For most women this doesn't mean they can't exercise as long as they are not trying to lift very heavy weights. If this is the case you might want to ask your doctor how much weight you can safely lift.

At the place you are in your recovery I would guess that you should be able to be doing house work pretty easily, although many tire quickly for several months. You should listen to your body and when you become tired or begin to hurt, take a break and rest. When you feel better start again and do what you can do. You should find that with the passing of time you will be able to do more and more until you find yourself back to normal.

Again, I want to encourage you to make sure you are following your doctor's instructions, but I believe yoga is probably a very good exercise for you. With anything you may find you have some pain when you first start. You need to go slowly and carefully and perhaps you will need to modify what you do for a time if it hurts.

I had a very difficult time getting back into an exercise routine. My dr sent me to a physical therapist who helped me gradually get to where I could work out without pain. One of the big things that I needed to do was to stretch. My limited activity had left me very tight throughout my abdomen and groin area especially. Once I had regained some flexibility I had much greater success with the other things I wanted to do.

I wonder also if you are using any hormones? With the loss of your ovaries you will no doubt be having menopausal symptoms. I'm not sure of your age, but you are correct about the danger to your bones. There is a lot of very good information on this subject in the Hormone Article List. You can do some reading there and if you have specific questions on that we would be glad to help.

I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have other questions or if I have misunderstood what you are asking. I hope you can get back to doing your yoga soon. Let us know how you do.
