I Can't sleep !!

My surgery isn't until April 8th and I am having a terrible time sleeping. I take Melatonin , which usually makes me sleep but now I fall to sleep but keep waking up ! What did you do to help you sleep ? I am going to be so tired even before I have surgery .

Re: I Can't sleep !!

Welcome HappyVLP

Sleep is often quite elusive before surgery. It is hard to relax at night when all our thoughts March through our head, causing us to worry

It's really challenging to relax but you really need your sleep. You may want to speak to your doctor about A product like Tylenol PM if melatonin is not working. Ask your doctor for other options.

Here is an article with some tips that I hope may help you relax:

RELAXTION TIPS BEFORE SURGERY

Try to eat a lighter meal before going to bed. Try to relax by reading magazines, books, watching a favorite program or movie, online games, listening to music. Perhaps an herbal tea or cocoa would be soothing.

Hugs and sweet dreams soon.

Re: I Can't sleep !!

Hey there , I been taking Unisom ( over the counter and gentle ) and a cup sleepy time tea with honey ( you can find in the grocery store ) between the both I been sleeping like a baby.

Like you I am scheduled for surgery on 04/06 at 1st was not able to sleep but with this date coming so fast I had to come up with a plan before I loose my mind.

I been sticking to my to do list and just tried to keep I know I will doing a LOT of resting after this major surgery in the recovery period.

Hope that helps !
