I had no idea this board was here!

Hi fellow runners! I'm posting mostly so I can find you all again - but I am a runner! I'm 51 and started running in my mid-thirties. When not recovering from surgery I usually run around 30 miles a week, and my favorite race distance is half marathon. But I did complete my first (and probably only) full marathon May 2013.

I had my LAVH on Feb 12 and my first question at my post-op appointment on March 5 will be, "when can I run?"!

I am registered to run a flat and fast half marathon April 28, but I'm not sure I can pull that off. I've lost a lot of conditioning over the last six months, as well as gained some weight. But I'm not giving up on it just yet. I figure even if I have to walk parts of it, I can still do it in the 3.5 hour time limit. It might be a good way to celebrate my return to the road!

So glad to know there are other runners here. I'm looking forward to reading your stories!
