laparatomy with total hysterectomy new and need help

Hi I'm new to this forum. I'm having a laparatomy on Nov 8. I will be in the hospital 5 days. I have a 10.2 cm complex cyst on my left adnexal and they can't find any normal ovarian tissue. The doctor said theres an 80% chance of having a total hysterectomy and 10% chance of cancer. I'm having a colonoscopy next week to see if my bowels are involved, I'm having problems moving my bowels and my back and left leg hurt. < oops, hospital name removed for safety > . Any information anyone can offer is appreciated. I have a 6, 7 and 14 year old. My mother-in-law is coming to take care of my children while I'm in the hospital. Can she go home when I come home. I'm a little scared. Is this surgery painful. I've had 3 c-sections and 1/2 my thyroid removed. I'm tired of these surgeries. Thank You.....................

Hi, I'm sorry that you're facing surgery, it's normal to be nervous IMO. I had precancerous uterine tumors and my pathology came back benign. I'll be praying for the same good results fot you.

If your MIL can be there at home with you for a few days it would be good. I'm sure that your 14 year can help some too but an extra adult might be a good addition
