anyone ever go thru anything similar??

Hello I am just over 4 weeks post op had developed a bladder infection and the sulfa drug was not working...got really sick today, and hot and sweaty, legs were shaky and unsteady felt like anxiety big time but not well anyway.
Went to a walk in clinic and the dr. kinda gave me crap saying I should have been back to the dr. in 2 or 3 days if i was not feeling better.........well.......things are still tender down there I didn't know what was tummy pains and what were bladder pains(other than the burning pee thing) He was very uninformative.!!!
I told him I still have my ovaries so could the anxiety etc. be from my hormones still messed from the ovaries being in shock from the surgery??(as I have read on here can happen) He said I don't know seems strange???
Anyway he gave me some better sleeping pills as I have not been sleeping, an ativan to settle at the moment and a rx. for a once only uti antibiotic. ( i took it today) It is supposed to clear it in 3 days.
He was questioning my history with uti's. I said I never had one til all this problems with the bulky uterus etc. this past year but then had a hysterectomy so wasn't thinking about it(although I know they are not uncommon during recovery)
The specialist had said my uterus was like a big old basketball sitting on my bladder( thinking maybe because of the pressure it may not have been totally emptying before as this is how it felt at times) so I thought that things would be better(however I did keep my urologist appt for nov and will follow thru with that too)
Anyone out there gone thru anything like this???(If I make any sense talking all over the place....lol)

I had a UTI and was put on sulpha antibiotic. The next appointment they told me I had a bladder infection and put me on Augmentin. I have an appointment today and am expecting to still have something going on. I still feel the same way as I have the last 2 times. Nothing seems to be working for it.

I suffer with kidney infections due to the fact that my kidneys are damaged,and i have been battling a kidney infection for 12 days now..things are improving but very slowly despite being on antibiotics fit for a whole zoo i think
I have to go back to see my gp on Friday,lets hope things are better by then

I had a terrible UTI 1 wk b/f my surgery. My heart goes out to you. You feel so rotten w/that kind of infection. My Dr put me on Proquin (ciprofloxin) it's a 3 day super antibiotic. If that's what your Dr gave you, it's a great med. You should be feeling better in a few days. For all of you ladies enduring UTI, get plenty of rest & I hope you're feeling better soon.

Oh wow! That is terrible for all of you ladies! I really dont' want to go there!

Bearteddy, can you go to a different dr? A more educated one? Or maybe just one that seems interested in what ails you? I really hope I am not hurting still at 4 weeks too! Many positive thoughts your way!!!
