One Year Today Since My Op

Yes, exactly one day today since my op - and I am celebrating a year of being cancer-free! Looking back, I can't believe how smoothly it all went and how lucky I was that my endo cancer turned out to be grade 1, stage 1 (I was previously so convinced that I was alright, that I ignored very occasional tiny bits of blood loss for ages - than cancelled 2 hospital appointments before finally being seen! How stupid can you be?).

One year post op, I am a far happier person that before. I really have learned to value life much more than before and try not to get so stressed (I am convinced that stress paid a big part in the development of my cancer). I can honestly say that I am happy that I had the cancer and feel truly blessed that everything (at least so far!) has gone so well for me!

Having said that I am happy today - it is also a day when I am thinking and praying for the rest of you here who are not so lucky and may be undergoing chemo etc. I pray that God will heal you if at all possible - but that, whatever happens, you will find the strength to deal with it. May God bless and hold you all in his loving arms.

Chris.

PS

I found this lovely prayer on a web site :-

A Prayer for Cancer

Dear Lord, cancer is a mystery and a

darkness we do not understand.

Help us to face that mystery and darkness

with courage and strength.

Uphold us as we walk into that mystery

and darkness with your loving arms.

Break the darkness with your heavenly light.

Light the way with comfort for those

who have suffered loss.

Light the way with strength and

closeness for families as they cope

Light the way with wisdom and discernment

for those who administer care.

Light the way with knowledge for those seeking the cure.

Light the way with compassion and

tenderness for all those touched by this illness.

Help us not to let the uncertainty of the future

rob us from the joy of the present.

Teach us to live each moment to the fullest.

Mystery can lead to wonder,

and wonder into joy.

Heavenly Father, Lead us into joy.

In the precious name of Jesus....Amen
